The words of Orkney’s most famous poet and writer are given life in this new CD produced by the Stromness Young Enterprise Group. Orcadian voices old and young expressively read thirty-six of his best pieces. Ten of the poems are read by the poet himself and several voices familiar to anyone who listens to Radio Orkney, Dave Gray, Graham Garson and Angus Findlater, contribute readings. Archie Bevan reads one prose piece, a wonderful description of Willie Farquhar, “a Toby Jug come alive” and his famous “night club” the Golden Slipper.
