Layered Landscape

The Orkney landscape is largely horizontal the rock strata, the lochs and seas, the gently rolling hills, all dominated by the ever-changing sky. Applique and reverse applique are used here to explore the colours of these layers - the rich brown of the rocks and the toning shades of blue and green.
