Raku Teapot
Raku pottery originated in Japan and was the traditional method of making bowls, and teapots like these, for the tea ceremony. Pieces are removed from the kiln while the glaze is still molten, causing the distinctive, and unpredictable, cracking in the glaze. Plunging the pieces into sawdust removes oxygen from the glaze, producing these deep colours.
Approx 14cm high
