Orkney Angora has been based on Sanday since 1982. They no longer breed the rabbits from which the wool is shorn but the wool is dyed and knitted in Sanday. My mother, who feels the cold very badly, was so pleased with the long-sleeved vest I gave her for her birthday that she asked for another for Christmas.
