William Scollay, grandson of an Orcadian who emigrated to Boston rather accidentally gave his name to Scollay Square. It's enormously eventful history of abolishionists, cavalry charges, giant tea-kettles and vaudeville is retold in this very entertaining book. When I found it while I was researching the Scollays I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to share it so I'm delighted that teh author, David Kruh has arranged for his publisher to send me a supply. Anyone in America who'd like to buy a copy should go to David's website.
