Product Description

This old mill is in a beautiful sheltered spot just on the edge of Finstown, by the Ouse, a little tidal estuary. Every parish had a meal mill and many of them are still standing. Tormiston Mill in Stenness now houses the Maeshowe Visitor Centre and the Barony Mill in Birsay has been restored as a working mill and tourist attraction. The mill in this picture was sold earlier this year so it will be interesting to see what becomes of it.
